I hear the same mistakes over and over again. Here are just a few of them. Can you spot what is wrong? Answers are below the photo.
1. He is frightened for spiders.
2. He has next week a holiday.
3. Everyone have problems that they don’t want to talk about.
4. You are not allowed to make photos during the concert.
1. He is frightened OF spiders. ('of' not 'for' is used with frightened/scared)
2. He has a holiday NEXT WEEK (time doesn't often go in the middle of the sentence)
3. Everyone HAS problems that they don’t want to talk about. (everyone/no one/someone is singular)
4. You are not allowed to TAKE photos during the concert. (It's Dutch to say 'make' a photo)
